Version 6.1b of GoFiler has been released. This release corresponds to EDGAR 25.2.1.1 and contains improvements to XBRL, XDX, and Page View. Additionally, changes have been made to the Fee Exhibit Editor and to general EDGAR submission in preparation for the transition to EDGAR Next next month.
Please use the Check for Updates function to update your software to the latest version.
What’s in the Release
General Items
– Corrected an issue where, if GoFiler was freshly installed, the default news feed selection would not be in place.
– Improved INI settings for controlling the news feed.
Text View and ASCII
– Made minor changes to the file type testers and acceptance for some non-EDGAR file types.
Page View and HTML
– Made improvements to HTML import when copying and pasting data from web browsers.
– Relaxed HTML validation for background color to conform with previous changes to the EDGAR System.
– Improved HTML validation of external reference URIs.
– Added logic to detect potential viewing problems for default block spacing.
– Improved handling of file paths with special character when sending files to a web browser.
– Corrected a minor issue in HTML Export when the source HTML contains coding errors.
iXBRL
– Made minor corrections and improvements to namespace processing.
– Made changes to validation for processing amendments with respect to auditor data.
– Made changes to error codes that reference the EDGAR Filer Manual.
XBRL View
– Corrected an issue that would cause US-GAAP to not be included with ECD 2025.
– The application will now properly export and retain the correct taxonomy year after an XFR file with RXP 2025 is saved and reopened.
– The application will use DTR 2024 for taxonomies dated 2025 or later if DTR items are used and DTR is not already imported.
– The application will rebuild cached taxonomy data if it was created with a different version of the software.
– The application will now automatically create the required relationships for presentations that contain both typed dimensions and explicit dimensions.
– The RXP Import CSV plugin has been updated to correct an issue resulting in an extra dimension being added to several facts on the “Payments By Government” presentation.
XDX
– Added implied HTML block spacing testing for iXBRL documents. See Page View release notes.
– The application will rebuild cached taxonomy data if it was created with a different version of the software.
– The application will now automatically create the required relationships for presentations that contain both typed dimensions and explicit dimensions.
– Corrected an issue that would cause US-GAAP to not be included with ECD 2025.
– When editing a Column with Dimension engram with OEF RR, the application will convert it to a Column with Context using the reporting period.
– The application will use DTR 2024 for taxonomies dated 2025 or later if DTR items are used and DTR is not already imported.
– The Edit XDX Engram function will now properly seek backwards to find an engram instead of only working on the current HTML tag.
EDGAR iXBRL Fee Exhibit Editor
– Corrected an issue with the number of securities having ‘.00’ appended on load or import of Table 3.
– Tables 1, 2 and 3 (Offering, Office and Combined Prospectuses) now have hidden tags added to the dcoument header indicating whether these tables have been filled out.
– Added validation for FFD concepts OfferingTableNa, OffsetTableNa and CombinedProspectusTableNa.
Form 13F and SHO Updates
– The application will now only load the contents of the INFORMATION TABLE document from attachments that have the correct document type and an XML extension.
Form 24F-2
– Corrected an issue that would cause the “All?” checkbox not to be displayed under some circumstances.
– The application will now round using half down to match the SEC calculations unique to this form.
Form C
– The “File Number” field will now display the correct error message for forms C-U, C-U-W, C/A, and C/A-W when data is required but not entered.
N-CR Updates
– Added the “Retrieve Series/Classes” and “Lookup Series/Classes” functions to the “Series/Classes (Contracts) Information” tab.
Form N-MFP3 Updates
– The Import XML Form File function has been updated to work with Form N-MFP3.
– The Add Feeder Fund button will no longer add an entry if the “Is this a Master Fund?” is not set to “Yes”.
– Many of the N-MFP add functions that were disabled on Form N-MFP3 are no longer disabled.
N-PX Updates
– The application will now only save and load the contents of the PROXY VOTE RECORD document for attachments that have the correct document type and an XML extension.
– Corrected an issue that prevented the Vote and Vote Record fields from being imported when importing XML.
– Corrected an issue that caused the “For/Against Management” option to always select FOR if no value was given when importing CSV.
General EDGAR Updates
– The application has been updated to work with the latest version of the SEC’s EDGAR Next beta. For more information on how to test the software with the beta environment, contact support.
– The Novaworks Login Assistant has been updated to work with EDGAR Next as well as the EDGAR Next beta website.
– When the API lookup for a CIK (without a CCC) fails, the application will automatically check the EDGAR company database for the CIK.
– The Update Entries using EDGAR function within the CIK Libray now shows a dialog to manage which entries will be checked.
– The validation of PDF files has been updated to include checking for PDFs that use exclusively Type0 fonts without any ToUnicode mapping. Since Type0 fonts use the glyphs of the font directly, there is no textual information contained in the PDF, which is required as per the EFM for most forms.
SCHEDULE 13D/G Updates
– Retrieving a CIK on the Filer Information page now only fills in the filer information. Similarly, retrieving a CIK on the Cover Page now only fills the issuer information.
– Corrected an issue with background lookups when validating with the EDGAR Next API enabled.
– Corrected an issue that would cause some of the Notification Address fields to be duplicated to Item 1 on SCHEDULE 13D.
– The proof will now show the Reporting Person CIK, if any.
Section 16 Updates
– The background lookup function for the issuer will now use the SEC Company JSON file to retrieve the name well as the ticker.
– Corrected an issue with text wrapping on the Form 5 proof.
– The Import CSV from File and Import CSV from Clipboard functions are now available from the ribbon.
– Improved the column matching logic to better match the column labels for the derivative and non-derivative tables during import.
Data View
– Added a new Trim Sheet function.
– Improved paste action for viewport positioning.
– Added Delete quick key to row and column delete functions.
Technical Notes (Legato)
– Added new API XML Parse Object. This object is a fast scaled down XML/HTML parser.
– Added API access to the application word dictionaries.
– Improvements to XDS workbook API functions. The Workbook Object now supports editing existing workbooks.
– Added API Log function to display a Log Object in a message box style dialog.
– Minor IDE improvements to Debug Window
– Added more clipboard application types.
